However, as much profit as wedding planners, bridal shops, tuxedo shops, makeup artists, caterers and the like, make from weddings, the divorce rate in the church, sadly is almost equal to that of the world. This breaks the Father's heart. As nice as it is to have flower girls, a big beautiful dress and all the other things that go into a wedding, the most important thing is that you and your spouse are entering into a covenant relationship before the Lord. Marriage is a reflection of Christ's relationship with the church. High divorce rates do not prove that something is wrong with marriages--God instituted marriage. Nothing that God establishes is wrong. However, for those you are still single and considering marriage, take this time in your life to truly understand the purpose of a godly marriage and ask the Lord to prepare you for that, before marriage comes. The enemy is attacking marriages and families left and right, because he knows that where there are no strong, healthy and godly families, there is no strong, healthy and godly society.
